Nut finished

I finished cutting the slots:

I then measured the approximate action at the 12th fret. The action is around 5/64 untuned. And the saddle is about 3/16. This was exactly how I planned it. I have plenty of saddle to make any adjustments after tuning and adding neck relief.

Then I spent some time shaping , sanding and polishing the nut.

I then needed to angle the nut slot to 15 degrees. To do this I used a pencil to mark the bottom of the slot. I then filed the slot at the same angle as the headstock towards the appropriate post. I file the slot until only a small speck of the pencil mark is left.

Lastly I open up the back of the slots with a needle file.
