The body of the dread is done for now. I hang the body with a dummy neck to get it out of the way:

I pull out the neck stock I have for the dread:

After doing some calculations, I lay out the break point, the nut edge, the 14th fret and the cut line:

I then take the neck blank to the tablesaw and cut at the cut line. The excess I cut into the heel stack that I will need:

Next I cut the scarf joint by cutting at a 12 degree angle at the break point line:
