Middle of the week

I started my day pulling out my cnc machine. I am predicting the need for another radius bar tomorrow. I will need another one to put 220 grit on it for final sanding of the fretboard. Some time ago I created and tested a cnc file for a 6inch radius block. I will repeat the process 3 times on a long board of mdf to create an 18" radius block. I can put a guide right next to the project board:



For sure this will not be completed until tomorrow. My cnc/laser is a bit on the slow side but becoming highly useful.


As predicted, I finished with the 120 grit sanding of the radiusing:



Since I have to wait for the final sanding beam to be created, I can shore up the side of the neck with the fretboard. I use 5 tools for this, a spokeshave, shinto rasp, dragon rasp, nicholson 4 in 1, nicholson 17505N:




This guitar is coming along. But, there is still plenty of work left to do before it becomes a musical instrument:
