Finessing the top

Today I worked on the dreads top and did some voicing to prepare for closing the box. I wanted the top to be more responsive. So I tap tuned the top and scallopped the braces. I left the braces a little thicker than normal since this top is redwood.

I also quickly created a tool to check that the height of the buried ends of the braces are the correct height, and consistant on the part to be buried into the sides and kerfing:

I then needed to make some cleats to cap the xbrace and to reinforce the seam in the lower bout. A little extra insurance. Especially because I will be shipping this guitar to the other side of the country:

After I planed the cleats down to a very thin layer. Next I will start making an end wedge. I am thinking of laser engraving it with a butterfly scene or some design.
