If you would like to dabble in lutherie a bit, you can do so the easy way. You can buy a kit! In this way alot of the hard work is already done. Things like cutting pieces, thicknessing, bending sides, slotting fretboards and even making necks are all done for you. This is great for a beginner who may want to build their own. Stewmac's basic kit has laminate sides which is much easier for the beginner to deal with. If you want solid wood back and sides, stewmac sells a premium kit.
This forum would also be a great place to post question on building and share your experiences also.

If you grow out of this kit and would like to experiment in more exotic wood, you can with LMII.
here you can purchase solid back and sides of many types of wood and have them serviced to fit into your kit. Service includes thicknessing and bending of sides. And if you feel advanced and can make many of the pieces without a kit, you can use LMII services to just take care of things you dont feel comfortable doing yourself. like bending sides or fretting slotting.
If demand calls for it, I can hold virtual build classes for a fee. I also can hold advance build classes where we build an entire ukulele from scratch. If this interests you just post your interest of it.
This is a set of videos I found on youtube. These videos documents a person building a stewmac kit. You can learn alot with these. These show how the build goes and mistakes that can be made.
